Are you Frustrated by not Securing those more Senior Roles?

You think you're qualified but you're not securing those more senior roles?

It's annoying and can damage your confidence, making it increasingly hard to want to progress.

Confidence is at least as important as capability when applying for a job.  If you start to doubt yourself, it can show.

That's a sign that your self-identity is not lined up with your desired position.  Time to create an identity based on your future not your past.

Do you Want to Take a New Direction but Fear You'll Fail?

How do you think of yourself?  Does your self-identity constrain you?

Do you think you're not the sort of person who grabs that opportunity or could succeed at that challenge?

We tend to live the identity we or others ascribe us.

We will fail if we don't have an identity that matches our aspirations.

Are you Stagnating through Lack of Confidence to Move Forward?

Have you been in the same position for too long?

Do you need to grow but don't know how or in what direction?

Perhaps you know you're getting stale but don't have the confidence to make a move.

Your curent self-identity is probably based on your past and it's not allowing room for the growth you need.

Book Your Spot

Is Your Self-Identity Holding you Back?

'I'm the sort of person who.....'

Often our self-identity is based on our past selves, not on our self-today or our steps into the future.

Like a snake shedding it's skin we need to shed our identities and grow new ones - identities that have room for us to grow into what we want to become and what we want to do.

James Clear in his book Atomic Habits talks about being able to create habits when they align with who we think we are.  We cannot be what we don't think we are.

Eg the self belief,  'I'm the sort of person who goes to the gym every day'

is more helpful than

'I'm too tired to go to the gym today.'

SO, WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?

Covid has Caused us to Reassess Who We Are and What We Want

Women who were career-focused have become more focused on home, others on the promotion that has eluded them,  others on finding the right working environment.

Many women, newly conscious of time passing, want to pursue their own dreams.

Hence the great resignation.

Behind all of this is our IDENTITY.  Who are we? Who do we want to become? How do we want to create our worlds?

What is Your Self-Identity?

Is your idea of yourself based on what you were doing years ago?  or just on the present?

If so, you could be missing:

  • A promotion?
  • More exciting work?
  • Greater say over how you work?
  • A chance to make a bigger difference?
  • An opportunity to live a new kind of life?

Maybe you see those opportunities and are dazed by the challenge so they pass you by.

When we live with a self-identity based on less than we are, we are more prone to imposter syndrome, have lower self-esteem and with less confidence, we don't move forward with our lives.

Yesterday's self-identity is holding you back.  You're not that person any more - you have grown and your identity needs to do so too.

Foundation

Our self-identities need to be authentic.  What is yours based on?  Who are you now, what have you proved yourself to be?

There are foundations that have always been true and are unlikely to change and there are new elements that we have developed.

There may be elements you used to have but don't have today.

These form the basis of your identity.

Often we include elements that we have outgrown and omit important new parts of ourselves, so a thorough evaluation is essential.

Passion

What do we really love?  This may be different today than even 2 years ago.

Our passions are where we get our energy from - they will drive the general direction of where we want to go.

But they can change over time and with changing circumstances of our lives.

We may crave greater stability or more adventure.

The only way to create a fulfilling life is to identify which ones are driving you now.

Vision

Where do you want to go? Who do you want to be?

Needless to say, if you don't have a destination, a map won't help you get there.

With a vision, you can work successfully towards it.

Who is future you?  How does she want to work?  What role does work play in her life?

How is it driven by her passions? How does it harness her foundations?

This workshop is perfect for you if ...

  • You have a challenge or opportunity you keep avoiding
  • Your inner voice sometimes tells you you're not cut out for this opportunity
  • You base your idea of yourself on what you have been or who you are now
  • You'd like to step up, or step out but feel it's a bit of a leap

This workshop is not right for you if ...

  • You're not interested in developing yourself personally or professionally
  • You prefer excuses to solutions
  • You prefer to have a smaller life even if it means stagnating
  • You are not prepared to be honest with yourself about how you feel
  • You have past trauma you are not ready to be free from

What You'll Walk Away with after Just 90 Minutes

  • The foundations and driving forces of a stretch identity for growth that is true to you and honours your life
  • A vision to work on for your future fulfilment
  • Greater self-belief and motivation to move forward

Jude Rutherford

"As a sole practitioner, it was useful to step back and consider how I operate, the stories I tell myself, how they stifle opportunity and how I might change that.
Sara has some useful frameworks to challenge your thinking and she is generous with her time and care."
